Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to understand the physiological changes that occur with advancing age, to understand the necessary evaluation and exercise programs for healthy and disabled elderly people, and to raise awareness about healthy aging and quality of life.
Course Content: Within the scope of this course; Definitions related to gerontology, geriatrics and aging, physiological changes that occur with aging, physiological changes that occur with aging in the musculoskeletal system and cardiopulmonary system, sensory-perceptual-motor changes that occur with aging, functional evaluation methods and falls, multidisciplinary team in geriatrics The importance of exercise, exercise programs suitable for the elderly, healthy aging and quality of life, and areas of study for physiotherapy in old age are included.
