Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the technical features of the balaban (duduk) instrument, learn traditional and modern repertoires, gain advanced performance skills on this instrument and develop an original performance style.
Course Content: Understanding the history, structure and technical features of the balaban (duduk) instrument.
Learning traditional and modern bittern repertoires.
Developing advanced performance skills on balaban.
Creating a unique balaban performance style.

2) Structure, history and playing positions of the balaban Lecture notes will be provided to students during class time.

4) Blowing, breathing control and transition techniques between notes Lecture notes will be provided to students during class time.
5) Melody Exercises Lecture notes will be provided to students during class time.
6) Playing simple melodies and song structures Lecture notes will be provided to students during class time.
7) Examination of Maqams Lecture notes will be provided to students during class time.
