Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: By organizing workshops with ready to wear companies to enable students to realize their apparel designs according to the brief of the professionals so that students gain experience by presenting their projects, taking responsibility in a teamwork in accordence with a time and action plan.
Course Content: To research a ready to wear brand and to analyse the target consumer
To be able to design a collection for a ready to wear brand and to make a pre-production sampling.
To be able to project their designs on cad design softwares.
To develop a project according to critics and able to comment on other students’ designs and projects.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Course introduction Presentation and presentation of sample workshops
2) The place of companies which are ready-wear fashion brand investment in national and international fashion industry
3) Workshop work to be done Visit the clothing company, Recognition of brand and company, Acquisition of the project brief
4) Preparing and presenting the preliminary presentations within the project brief for the designated sample brand: In the project presentation: 1.Mark Name, 2.Year collection adedi, information about the company 3rd Handbook 4.Markan's current trends, collection and design examples 5. Collection base, target mass (female / male / child), story board It needs to take place.
5) Evaluation and interpretation of presentations, completion and delivery of points to be improved Starting project sketch work (Computer Studio / workshop work)
6) Completion of sketch studies (at least 8 design sketches per person)
7) Primary presentations of the workshop in presence of the company executive.(First evaluation)
8) Developing the project accoring to the company critics; determining the final collection.
9) Finalizing the specsheets of the applied designs.
10) Visit to the company for identification and design of fabrics and accessories
11) Studio sampling and sewing process.
