Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: It is a highly innovative course which aims to provide our students with awareness of technical and intelligent textiles with a rapidly growing share in the fashion industry and to give a whole new perspective to textile approaches. Our students, jackets that awaken drivers to sleep, sports clothes listening to heartbeats, dreaming night dresses that change color according to room temperature, can combine performance with creative thinking, present the terminology of textile raw materials in at least one foreign language, start career planning, apply ethical principles, life In this course students learn how to combine textile materials with functionality and performance with an interdisciplinary approach, including engineering and information systems, as well as terminology and production methods in the fashion and textile industry.
Course Content: A.The definition and classification of technical and intelligent textiles
B. Recognize and distinguish innovative materials
C. To be able to distinguish the use of wearable electronics
D. To understand the relationship between technical and intelligent textiles with fashion
E. Learning how to integrate innovative materials into textile products and design

1) To recognise equipments for manufacturing process of design (weaving-printing-clothing) and to follow the implementation stages with the acquired skills of guidance and technical knowledge
1) 1. Developing the ability to use, evaluate and compare the knowledge gained about concepts of art, design culture and aesthetics
2) To finalize a design project based on a concept by planning and implementing steps.
2) To be able to develop original designs on the theme determined using research methods and to present projects orally
