Periodontology PhD education lasts 8 semesters. During this period, our doctoral students are responsible for examining the number of patients to be determined by our department and treating these patients with up-to-date approaches, under the supervision of advisor faculty members.
The first 4 semesters consist of theoretical and practical courses. Students who successfully pass these courses take the doctoral qualifying exam at the end of the 4th semester. The student who successfully completes this exam is obliged to carry out a doctoral thesis, which will continue for 4 semesters. The PhD thesis is monitored by the PhD Thesis Progress Committee. The thesis proposal is submitted to the thesis monitoring committee within 6 months at the latest. When accepted by the committee, the thesis subject is reported to the Health Sciences Institute. |
