Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of this course is to present the essentials of the intra- and extra-oral examination of the pediatric patients; the different caries prevention techniques; the development and eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth. This course alsoaims to enable students with the skills in preventive dental procedures and learn the principles of operative and endodontic treatments in primary and young permanent dentition.
Course Content: Dental development and eruption
Diagnosis of intraoral problems in children
Diagnosis of extraoral problems in children
Behaviour types in children
Importance of different caries prevention measurements on tooth development and eruption
Caries prevention methods
