Course Objectives: Introduction to the process of conducting research; steps in the process of research; identifying a hypothesis and research problem; creating research questions; reviewing literature; ethics of research; qualitative research: essence of qualitative data, sampling, collection techniques; interpreting qualitative data: qualitative data analysis procedures, coding, thematic development; quantitative research: essence of quantitative data, collection and analysis techniques, sampling, data collection instruments; applied statistics: identifying the dependent and independent variables, confidence levels; descriptive statistics; inferential statistics: drawing inference from data, modeling assumptions, identifying patterns, data analysis; regression analysis; SPSS application; APA writing styles, taxonomy of research, research project presentation.
