Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Understanding the modern state by examining past state experiences through the types, dimensions, historical development and tools of power
To obtain information about the process of intellectual and legal development of human rights, national and international mechanisms on the subject of human rights and protection of human rights
Course Content: Sources, elements and development of modern state

1) To understand the evolution of political power and the nature of the legal and political structure named "State".
2) To have knowledge about the concepts of public law such as power, sovereignty, authority, legitimacy, separation of powers.
3) To learn the stages of the political power structures and the experiences of the state through the evolution of the state.
4) To be able to understand the relations between the institutions that govern the functioning of the political system, judicial mechanisms, principles and values specific to civil society.
5) To gain basic knowledge about the major philosophical movements (liberalism, fascism, socialism, etc.).
6) To understand the thoughts and changes about the law in the history of political thought.
7) To understand political ideologies and their approaches to law and state
8) To comprehend the basic factors shaping modern democracies, democracy models, the rule of law
