Course Objectives: At the end of this course, students will be able to;
• Describe the concepts related to the nutrition of the sick child.
• Describe the nutrition of children who are born or are sick.• educate children and families in chronic diseases.
• Explain the importance of medical nutrition therapy in childhood acute and chronic diseases.• Explain the principles of nutrition in obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 1 diabetes, kidney diseases, infectious diseases, liver diseases, hematological-oncological diseases, neurological diseases and congenital heart diseases.
• Plan medical nutrition therapy for obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 1 diabetes, kidney diseases, infectious diseases, liver diseases, hematological-oncological diseases, neurological diseases and congenital heart diseases.• Enteral and parenteral nutrition therapy.
