Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Provides to unique design with creative ideas during the Project preparing period. Students perspective will be developed socially, economically and technically to perform visualize personel creative ideas with written and picturing techniques to develop self expression skills.

During the course, all the students obtains teamworking and co-operating identity. Students shapes his/her own artistic identity. Purposes to review and learn related clothing designs theoretically by application.
Course Content: The subject and operation of the project.
Choosing the subject and determining the objectives.
Trend research.
Sketch works.
Creation of collection.
Sewing of clothing in the collection.

Lesson Plan

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) • Project course is introduced to students. • The aim of the course is specified. How to prepare the project and its processes are discussed. Research paper about the theme of the project is given. In the next lesson week, theme suggestions will be determined in line with this homework.
2) The aim of the course is to provide the student with the theoretical and practical information about the design of the clothing project. Content of clothing project The process of preparing a project is explained theoretically. Studies given as homework are examined in the course. Topics that may be discussed are discussed. Research on the theme that will guide the project is given as homework. Homework will be presented in the course the following week.
3) • The student is expected to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about design and to develop a clothing design project. • Selection of theme. As a result of research given as homework, the theme that will support the formation of the clothing project is determined. The visual and textual sources found are turned into a presentation board. Completion of the presentation board is given as homework.
4) • Start the project. • The target season of the collection is determined. The season of the collection is determined by targeting the next spring and summer season. This study explains how the designs will be shaped according to season. The subject is discussed. According to the target season, the colors to be used in the collection are given as homework. This assignment will be checked next week.
5) • Start the project. • The clothing design process is started according to the selected theme. After the season and color survey of the determined theme, fabric and material choices are started. The sample fabrics and materials that will guide the clothing designs are investigated. The samples of the fabrics and materials will be evaluated in terms of their suitability for the project, the theme and the season.
6) • Project transition • Sketch work of the project is started. Progressive sketch works. Each stage of design is expressed in sketch. Sketches made during the course are discussed and corrected. Sketch work is given as homework.
