Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course; students learn child abuse and neglect in all dimensions. To learn the concept of child in need of protection, foster family and adoption processes and to have information about institutions that protect children.
Course Content: Definition of neglect, abuse and violence, examination of the characteristics of neglected and abused children from various angles (development, socio - demographic etc.), identification of the child thought to be neglected or abused, planning of the paths to follow and process monitoring, street children in need of protection definition of working children, developmental characteristics of these children, giving families as adoptions and problems that families may face in this case. Early marriages, domestic abuse. Foster family concept and institutions.
