Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Learning literacy skills and characteristics of children's literature in early childhood
Course Content: Defining the basic concepts of literacy and children's literature, skills predicting reading and writing, the relationship between language and early literacy, age-appropriate book selection criteria, the importance of reading interactive books, the development of literacy in children from birth to seven, effects of home literacy skills in assessment of early literacy skills approaches used, strategies to support early literacy skills in the home and school environment
