Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aime of this course is to introduced Physical environmental factors that are effective in making environmental design. Aiming at user comfort and effective use of energy, information is provided on climate and climate control, light, sound, fire protection and climate comfort parameters. Climatic comfort and climate elements affecting it, acquisition and interpretation of climatic data, making environmental variables that are effective in climate control in macro environment, selection of location, and determination of geometrical variables related to open spaces and buildings in settlement texture. Sound pollution, its effects on human and public health, noise level criteria and limits for various land uses, noise control systems and techniques and legal measures in urban planning and settlement design. Fire incident, suitable building ranges in terms of fire control, fire equipment in urban scale. Location selection application in terms of climate and noise control, location selection application in terms of climate, noise, light and fire control, determination of structure order in terms of climate, noise, light and fire control.

Course Content: Examining physical environmental factors and interior architecture physical environmental control at design stages audio-visual-thermal comfort in the design of the subject Emphasis on the importance of conditions (passive-active air conditioning general expression). Energy sources. Environment and energy in the building. Building design and environmental relations. Effects of construction and energy supply on balance and environmental pollution. Working system of energy facilities. Environment and energy in the building. Climate. Solar radiation. Thermal comfort in the building. External environmental components affecting the building envelope. Structural features of the building envelope are deaf surfaces. Transparent surfaces windows. Shadow elements. Daylight. Acoustic calculation in buildings and environmental effect.
