Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The following objectives are common to third year studios:
1. Acquisition of knowledge in analyzing, planning and designing in coherent transitions between multiple macro and micro scales (from 1/5000 to 1/200); development skill in full expression of each scale from creating alternative master plan ideas to designing multifunctional public buildings within an increased complexity of program.
2. İmprovement of attitudes in architectural design, advanced technologies in building construction and presentation techniques for both manual and computer aided drawings and models.
3. Development in oral and visual representation of design concepts and ideas.
4. Analysis of design problems in relation to environmental, social, cultural and urban aspects
5. Awareness development in design of new buildings in historical context
Course Content: Based on all these knowledge and skills, starting from urban scale, reaching the scale of single building, including urban design, architectural design, construction techniques and systems, detailing works, teamwork and collaborative and independent studio work.
