Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to provide firms engaged in international trade and their personnel with all the necessary knowledge required to compete effectively in global markets. It explores the foundational elements needed to develop strategies that enable success and sustainability in the highly competitive environment of international trade.
Course Content: This course aims to analyze how firms and countries build and sustain their competitive power. Starting from the conceptual foundations of competitive strategies, it addresses strategy formation approaches, industry structure, and competitor analysis in a holistic manner. Throughout the course, students will evaluate general competitive strategies and their dimensions, while also exploring the relationship between competitiveness and key factors such as technology, development policies, and international dynamics. By examining international case studies and Turkey’s competitiveness profile, the course aims to equip students with a critical perspective to develop concrete policy recommendations.
