Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The purpose of radiation protection is to provide an appropriate level of protection for humans without unduly limiting the beneficial actions giving rise to radiation exposure. Radiation protection is to prevent the occurrence of harmful deterministic effects and to reduce the probability of occurrence of stochastic effects (e.g. cancer and hereditary effects).

During the lectures, students will be taking on leadership responsibilities and work with other people in teams while developing their oral communication abilities and presentation skills. At the end of this course the students will be able to:
• describe the harm of radiation
• underline the importance of radiation protection
• identify and discuss the issues to be aware of what to protect against radiation
• discuss international standards
• discuss safety standards for radiation protection in our country

Course Content: At the end of this course the students will be able to:
• describe the harm of radiation
• underline the importance of radiation protection
• identify and discuss the issues to be aware of what to protect against radiation
• discuss international standards
• discuss safety standards for radiation protection in our country
