Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to learn the city where the global and the local meet on two continents, to understand the related dynamics in the historical process and to solve the place of Istanbul in the world scale. Students will have the ability and ability to analyze and analyze social and cultural problems such as globalization, gentrification, cultural heritage and renewal, the media city, the city of art through the city of Istanbul, the cultural capital of Europe, which presents unique, different and compelling examples in all areas of sociology. (This course is given in Turkish)
Course Content: Another aim of the course is to enable students to understand the complex relations of Jewish, Greek and Armenian communities living in the city during the Ottoman period from the birth of Istanbul.
The course content is designed to understand the development of trade routes and migration movements through the city of Istanbul.
Throughout the course, the position of the city of Istanbul in the cultural industry will be addressed in particular.
One of the objectives of the course is to explain the change lines of Istanbul in globalization
