Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: In this course it is aimed that the student have general knowledge about the basic concepts of linguistics; with this background firstly they are able to realise differences between the traditional analyses and the modern ones, then, they find out the statements and comments of modern linguistics on the structures and processes of world languages in terms of the universal principals.
Course Content: Understanding basic concepts and terms of some aera of linguistics, like phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics, exempliying almost every concept from Turkish, along with some world languages beginning from English, explaning concepts on the original sample that students collect, finally offering analyses on language data in short texts.
