Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: This course discusses the different aspects of culture, which is the basis of the differentiation of human societies, in the light of the principles and processes of anthropology. It aims to understand basic human institutions (kinship, economy, politics and religion) from a cross-cultural perspective, by evaluating theories of culture and social structure. By emphasizing the importance of examining the past and present of human societies with an intercultural approach, the course will be a tool for students to look at different ways of life and becoming with understanding.
Course Content: At the end of this course, it is aimed that students gain a perspective on human nature shaped by the tension created by being both biological and cultural assets. The course aims to provide the students who are studying in the social sciences with the basic historical information on human and culture and to encourage them to discuss. For this reason, rather than providing easy answers, it will lead to problems that invite you to think, wonder and research.
