Social and Cultural Studies is an interdisciplinary research area where sciences such as sociology, anthropology, politics and communication intersect. Our program aims to bring a holistic approach to the analysis of social and cultural phenomena by bringing these disciplines together through their methodological and theoretical peculiarities and commonalities, and to develop a more inclusive and in-depth perspective on today's complex social reality through the dialogue between them.
In addition to teaching sociological, anthropological and cultural theories and approaches; one of the primary objectives of the program is to develop critical and analytical thinking skills and to provide students with research skills. In this way, it is aimed to train researchers who can perceive social transformation and problems in both local/national, and regional/transnational/global contexts, who can determine and apply appropriate theories and research methods to these problems, or develop new ones. Social and Cultural Studies Master's Program provides a free thought environment and interdisciplinary studies, discussing current issues; it aims to produce new knowledge and solutions.
