| The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Programme aims to train "Guidance and Psychological Counseling Teachers" who are equipped with professional knowledge and skills regarding guidance and psychological counseling, sensitive to education and social problems in order to develop solutions and service, and devoted to their profession and occupational ethics. The program is designed to ensure that these counselors are individuals who are constantly improving themselves, centering their sensitivities and respects in their lives, bounded universal principles and professional ethics, carrying responsibility for being exemplary. In the program curriculum, field knowledge, pedagogical formation and general culture courses are taught together. Even though graduates of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Program mainly work in public and private schools, counseling and research centers affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, they can work in different areas like counseling and guidance centers of universities, nurseries and daycares, orphanages, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, student dormitories, special education centers, human resources departments of enterprises as psychological counselors and/or guidance teachers. The graduates working in the education system, support cognitive, affective, physical and social developments of the primary and secondary school students; help students regarding their problems about life and guide them to make the right decisions in their choice of profession. |
