Program Training Goals

(The objectives determined in line with the purpose of the program are stated below.)
1 ELT Department executes a program that aims to train teachers, instructors, academicians within the field of English Language Teaching. The program includes compulsory lessons related with teaching profession, methods of teaching foreign languages, linguistics, literature and culture. Besides compulsory lessons, curriculum of ELT department includes elective courses. Thus, the ELT department aims to educate graduates who are able to identify and solve the problems of foreign language teaching, use technology effectively, and have academic research skills.

1 Define the concepts of assessment and scientific research and apply these concepts in the school environment. Prepare daily lesson plans according to curriculum and design of instructional technologies and materials. Analyze the development of the learning and guidance processes of a person, and the relation of these processes with students’ development.
2 To provide education for individuals who are able to define and practice the approaches and methods in foreign language teaching, and who will do academic studies in their fields and implement their knowledge in the classroom.
