Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Basic theories and approaches in translation studies; translation of original written English texts in different subjects and types into Turkish; evaluating critical translation by comparing different translations of the same text through error analysis, etc. examination of subjects.
Course Content: In this course, Turkish-English, English-Turkish translations are given to the students in different text types; grammatical structure and context in the translation process are examined; studies are conducted to increase the awareness of prospective teachers on similarities and differences between two languages; it is emphasized the harmony between translation approaches and text types.
