Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Improving the ability of students to interpret historical events is among the objectives of this course. Understanding the importance of having an independent state and understanding of the value of the homeland, the events occurring in the world, the development of the ability to predict the impact on our country's present and future situation, learning of Ataturk's principles and reforms with the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey and the light of this information, national unity, indivisibility of the country the integrity of the Republic of Turkey and aimed to acquire the target removal of the level of developed countries.
Course Content: The basic concepts of Revolution History, the World and the Ottoman Empire in the early 20th century, the last period of the Ottoman State, the road to the First World War, the preparation period of the First World War, the National Struggle are the contents of the course.

Lesson Plan

1) Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution History, its importance, purpose and concepts related to history.
2) The strategic importance of the region where the Ottoman geography and the Republic of Turkey found. Reasons for other states to compete for these regions. Internal and external reasons for the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
3) The measures taken by the Ottoman Empire to prevent bad progress and the reasons for the changes in traditional policies and practices.
4) XX. General Political Situation of the World at the beginning of the 20th century, XX. Social, political and economic situation of the Ottoman Empire, Tripoli and Balkan wars
5) Changes in the world before the First World War. The search of the alliance of the Ottoman Empire, its entry into the war, the fronts it fought with, the losses and the migrations during the war.
6) Secret agreements made by the Entente States during the First World War and the plans to share the Ottoman lands. Çanakkale Naval and Land Wars is an epic written by the Ottoman army.
7) Mondros Armistice and its implementation; Occupation of Anatolia by the Entente States, the Ottoman Empire and the Situation of Anatolia after the Armistice.

10) Formation of the Representative Committee and the subsequent developments, Amasya Meetings, Arrival of the Representative Committee to Ankara
11) Developments in Istanbul and collection of the Ottoman Parliament, the National Pact decisions taken and the results of the invasion of Istanbul, distributing Parliament, the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey in Ankara
