Course Objectives: | To have knowledge about the concepts, models and theories of higher education and university, to learn about the historical development and transformation of higher education and universities and to make inferences about the future of the university, To recognize the management models of higher education. Having in-depth knowledge of the basic concepts of higher education such as academic autonomy, university autonomy, accountability, quality assurance and accreditation. Historical review of the development of Turkish higher education and universities. In the world and Turkey have information about higher education financing issues and trends, Turkey and in the world to have information about the transition to higher education and access systems, To make analysis on European Union higher education area and policies and their reflections on Turkish higher education, Turkey to recognize the legal foundations of higher education and inquiry, Turkey's recognition of higher education issues and trends, is expected to examine and inferences. |
Course Content: | In the Management of Higher Education course, students will have in-depth knowledge of concepts, theories and models related to higher education and universities, and their reflection and application to higher education systems. The topics covered include historical development and transformation of higher education, features of higher education systems and institutions in developed countries, academic freedom, university autonomy, quality assurance and accreditation in higher education. In addition, the Turkish higher education system is evaluated within the scope of each subject. higher education historical development in Turkey, access to higher education and entry systems, management of higher education transformation, strategic orientation of our higher education system, are also being considered on issues such as higher education policy and Turkey reflections of the European Union. |
