Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives: Introducing the students with the fundamentals of new media. Helping students to distinguish significant characteristics between new media and traditional media. Aiming students to interiorise the importance of multimedia for new media.
Course Content: Methods to use information and communication technologies for new media in a creative way. Roles of new media in social, economic and administrative processes. Examining social platforms. Effects of virtuality on individual and society and socializing dinamics as a consequence.

1) Following the trends about new media from online and offline sources. learning from any other area which has the potential to feed the new media area. introduction to the theorerical and practicakl information which can give functional benefit to the area.

1) To be able to use the theoretical and factual information for individual productivity, analysing the existing campaigns, reaching them critically. commenting on campaign data using new media knowledge and abilities, seeing the problems in marketing communication process.

1) communicating with the leaders and organizations in the sector, understanding and telling the qustion and problems in a constuctive way. connecting the knowledge about contemporary situation and problems with theoretical learnings, solving a problem or reaching a decision while finding the missing qualitative and quantitative data. connecting the new media knowledge and experiences with social responsibility awareness and creating projects for the social environment.

1) having a critical view with the knowledge ogf new media, proposing ideas of change, finding out the required learning points, planning and reaching the prestated goal. grasping the importance of life long learning and developing a tendency which fits this understanding.

1) collection of data about new media area and being able to comment on this data. behaving and deciding ethically and according to scientific values of the area.
