Course Objective and Content

Course Objectives:

The best way to learn qualitative methods in sociology is to implement them. Therefore, a significant part of this course is to conduct qualitative research and talk about research topics and questions.

Course Content:

This course is designed as an introduction to the basic issues about the practices and problems of qualitative research methods including alternative methodological approaches in sociology.In this course, we will talk about non-positivist methodological approaches and analyzes. We will also consider ethical and political issues in social research.Participant observation, field research techniques, historical comparative analysis, focus group, interview techniques, content analysis, oral history analysis will be the main topics of the course.
